OPEN ITEM: Indiana TV Landscape Shakeup
Big change in the Fort Wayne television landscape as the stations collectively known as “Indiana’s News Center” were sold and will now be operated jointly by Quincy Newspapers, Inc. of Illinois, according to Paul Wyche of the Journal Gazette. These stations comprise the ABC and NBC affiliates in the Fort Wayne market, as well as the CW and myNetworkTV affiliates. Quincy already owns and operates the FOX affiliate in the South Bend television market.
In filing related news – yes, the filing deadline was last week BUT the withdraw deadline was earlier THIS WEEK – one of the two candidates who filed to run against State Representative Kathy Heuer (R-Columbia City) withdrew from the ballot, forcing a head-to-head contest between Rep. Heuer and Christopher Judy. Read the final list of who is running for which state offices in the primary election on the Secretary of State’s website.
