Auditor of State Resigns
As it was first reported by our friends over at IndyPolitics.org, Dwayne Sawyer has officially tendered his resignation as Auditor of State to Governor Mike Pence.
In a statement released by Governor Pence’s office, a copy of Mr. Sawyer’s letter of resignation was included. It is reprinted, below, in its entirety.

Re: Notice of Resignation as Indiana Auditor of State
Dear Governor Pence:
Due to family and personal concerns, I have come to the conclusion that it will be in the best interests of my family and the people of Indiana whom I have been honored to serve that I resign from the office of Indiana auditor of state.
Therefore, I hereby resign as Indiana auditor of state, effective at 6:00 pm December 15, 2013. Pursuant to Indiana Code 5-8-3.5-1(a)(3)(b), please accept this litter as written notification of my resignation of the office of Indiana auditor of state.
