Americans for Prosperity Indiana Director Chase Downham tonight at 8pm on #HAchat

Hoosier Access Chats continue this Wednesday at 8pm w/ AFP Indiana Director Chase Downham

We hope you all enjoyed Chris Faulkner’s chat last week! Every Wednesday at 8pm we host a chat on Twitter using the hashtag #HAchat where you can talk about news and politics in the Hoosier state.

If you missed last week’s chat with political “insultant” (as his kids call him) Chris Faulkner, read the chat transcript on Cover it Live. This week Hoosier Access is excited to have the hard-working director of Americans for Prosperity in Indiana, Chase Downham. Chase has been active in Hoosier politics for some time, but when AFP decided to set up a chapter in Indiana, he got the call to take the lead! From the press release announcing his appointment:

Most recently, Chase worked for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce as the organization’s Manager of Political Affairs. In this role, Chase worked to recruit and help elect Chamber endorsed candidates for the Indiana House and Senate as well as drive the Chamber’s legislative grassroots activity.

A native of Muncie, Indiana, Chase graduated with “high distinction” from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) earning a degree in public affairs with a concentration in policy analysis. In addition to the Chamber, his past political experiences include work for Indiana Congressman Mike Pence as well as two congressional campaigns in Colorado including the 2006 campaign of now Colorado Congressman Scott Tipton. Chase is also a 2008 graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum.

Chase is one of the nicest people you’ll run into in Hoosier politics. A recent father, he is learning how to balance leading a statewide organization with young family life.

If you’d like to learn more about Twitter chats and how they work, read this blog post from Kevin Mullett about the tools you can use to participate. Those of you who don’t care for Twitter can follow the chat live here on HoosierAccess.com – we’ll pull all of the messages into the blog for you to follow along and add your own comments!

The entire Hoosier Access team is looking forward to spending some time with Chris – we hope you do too and that you’ll join us Wednesday at 8pm for #HAchat!

Derek Pillie also writes on his personal blog JackUVallTrades. You can follow him on Twitter, be his friend on Facebook, connect on LinkedIn, or include him in your circle on Google Plus.
